Artist co-op in Downtown Eastside opens

Posted on September 5, 2008

The Vancouver Courier covers the opening of 45 West, a new artist co-op occupying a previously abandoned Downtown East Side storefront. Earlier this year, Mayor Sullivan working with city staff and local entrepreneurs advocated for changes to city by-laws to create more artist studio space. 45 West is partly the result of this policy. See a clip of Mayor Sullivan as he is interviewed at 45 West before the renovation by Global TV.
